The Business Restructuring & Insolvency Associate Attorney role is onsite in New York, NY, with an annual salary range of $310,000–$390,000. Direct Counsel is recruiting for a premier global law firm’s nationally recognized Business Restructuring & Insolvency Practice Group. The associate represents stakeholders in complex bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters, including Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court transactions. The role contributes to sophisticated client matters through drafting, negotiation, legal analysis, and collaboration with finance, corporate, litigation, and regulatory teams.

What you'll do

• Represent debtors, creditors, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders
• work on Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings
• assist with restructuring support agreements, financing arrangements, asset sales, distressed acquisitions, liability management, and plan negotiations
• draft and negotiate agreements and court filings
• conduct legal and strategic analysis
• collaborate across practice groups
• manage matters and client interactions.
