Part-Time AI Research Data Annotator

Job overview

The Part-Time AI Research Data Annotator role is onsite in San Francisco, CA, for approximately 15–20 hours per week; compensation is $20–$25 per hour. Engramme is an AI research lab developing Large Memory Models to help people retrieve useful information from everyday digital tools. The role helps the research team train, evaluate, and improve its AI memory system through careful labeling and assessment of text, conversation transcripts, and generated memories. Annotators apply task-specific guidelines, flag ambiguous cases, and provide feedback as research tasks evolve.

What you'll do

• Complete data annotation and evaluation tasks during scheduled in-office sessions
• review text, conversation transcripts, and AI-generated memories and produce consistent labels
• evaluate the relevance and usefulness of retrieved memories
• apply annotation guidelines and use judgment on ambiguous information
• identify unclear instructions, edge cases, and recurring issues and share observations with researchers
• adapt to evolving tasks. Structured research experiments may include recorded conversations with appropriate consent.
