Companion II – Home Care

Job overview

The Companion II role is an onsite, on-the-road position serving clients in West Hartford, Connecticut. The schedule is Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Pay is $17 per hour, paid weekly. Athena Care at Home is hiring companions to provide nonmedical personal care and support in clients’ homes. The role helps clients with daily living, safety, household routines, transportation, and social support, while reporting changes in client status to appropriate team members.

What you'll do

• Assist with bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers, and eating
• provide medication reminders
• perform light housekeeping and laundry
• drive clients to outings, events, or appointments as needed
• provide emotional and social support
• assist with shopping and meal preparation
• monitor skin health
• assist with prosthetics and orthotics
• report changes in client status.
