Traveling Commercial HVAC Service Technician

Job overview

The Traveling Commercial HVAC Service Technician role is field-based and onsite, based in Kansas City, KS, with nationwide travel to data center projects and regional commercial clients. Pay is $30–$60 per hour, plus travel stipends, premium benefits, and a potential sign-on bonus based on experience. The technician joins the Air National Services team, supporting mission-critical data center projects and regional operating companies. The role exists to start up, commission, service, troubleshoot, and optimize commercial HVAC systems so customer equipment operates reliably and efficiently. It also supports client relationships, coordinated service delivery, safety compliance, and technical development across the field team.

What you'll do

• Diagnose and resolve issues across commercial HVAC systems
• perform preventive maintenance and optimize system performance
• communicate with clients and recommend improvements
• coordinate scheduling and follow-up with internal teams
• complete service reports and work orders
• participate in ongoing technical training and occasionally mentor junior technicians
• follow OSHA, company, and customer-site safety requirements
• and participate in the on-call rotation for urgent after-hours service. Nationwide travel is required. EPA Universal Certification is required.
