Engineering Technician – Sensor Hardware and Testing

The Engineering Technician – Sensor Hardware and Testing role is onsite in Windsor, CA, with an estimated annual salary range of $80,000–$95,000. The technician supports PNI Sensor’s hardware development, testing, debugging, and product validation work. Working closely with the Senior Hardware Engineer, the technician troubleshoots electronics and electromechanical systems, builds and modifies prototypes, and conducts testing and data collection. What you'll do

• Debug and troubleshoot electronic hardware, prototypes, and integrated sensor platforms
• perform board-level troubleshooting and identify component- and system-level failures
• support root-cause investigations and recommend next steps
• conduct first-pass analysis of test reports, failures, and data
• assist with electromechanical integration
• solder and rework PCB assemblies
• build and troubleshoot wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
• support prototype assembly and hardware modifications
• execute electrical, functional, environmental, and system-level tests
• operate electronic lab equipment
• support remote and field testing, including drone-based or mobile-platform activities
• develop and run Python test scripts
• record and summarize results
• assist with prototype builds, fixtures, lab organization, and process improvement.
