Vice President of Development

Job overview

The Vice President of Development is based in the Memphis metropolitan/Hernando area, with consistent in-person presence on Palmer Home’s Hernando campus and throughout the regional donor community; compensation is not specified. Palmer Home for Children provides care for children while introducing the love of God through its service. Reporting to the President as an Executive Team member, this leader advances the organization’s strategic plan by directing fundraising strategy, cultivating major donors, strengthening the Development team, and coordinating philanthropic work with the Board, Marketing, Finance, and other leaders.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute multiyear fundraising strategy
• lead diversified fundraising and work toward annual philanthropic goals
• cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors
• strengthen regional donor pipelines and planned giving
• lead and develop the Development team
• manage donor records, forecasts, reporting, and budget
• advise the President and Executive Team
• partner with the Board, Marketing, Finance, and organizational leaders
• maintain key relationships through leadership transitions
• represent Palmer Home in the community.
