The Green Careers Field Mentor role is onsite in Minneapolis, MN, with seasonal work scheduled June 15 through November 15 and flexible start and end dates. Compensation is $24–$28 per hour, based on experience. Spark-Y provides hands-on sustainability and entrepreneurship education for youth and supports urban habitat restoration in Minneapolis communities. The mentor oversees and trains sustainable landscaping staff and field crews while guiding participants in native habitat care, tree stewardship, and rain garden projects. The role also develops training, coordinates volunteer and youth education events, tracks project data, and supports client communication.

What you'll do

• Mentor, train, and provide logistical oversight for 8–15 part-time sustainable landscaping staff
• oversee field crews of 3–10
• revise training curriculum in forestry, urban habitat management, and green stormwater infrastructure
• facilitate volunteer and youth education events
• enter field data and track project metrics
• support client stewardship and communication
• plan 5–10 hours of weekly training and independent learning
• travel to project sites throughout Minneapolis.
