Veterinary Technician or Assistant — ER Appointment Technician

The Veterinary Technician or Assistant — ER Appointment Technician role is onsite in Boston, MA, with four 10-hour shifts per week. Veterinary assistants start at $22–$27 per hour; certified veterinary technicians start at $25–$30 per hour, with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for CVTs. MSPCA-Angell’s work supports the health and welfare of animals. The role supports emergency doctors caring for patients on the emergency list, from outpatient assessment through admission and transfer to inpatient service. It contributes to timely emergency care through clinical procedures, documentation, diagnostics, and patient support.

What you'll do

• Triage patients
• gather and document histories and exam findings
• restrain animals
• perform phlebotomy and basic diagnostic testing
• give subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous injections
• fill prescriptions
• take radiographs
• place IV catheters
• and support sedation when appropriate. The posting requires at least two years of veterinary technician or assistant experience in emergency and critical care.
