Ophthalmic Clinic Trainer — Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Required

The Ophthalmic Clinic Trainer is an onsite, full-time role in Norfolk, VA, with pay of $25–$31 per hour, DOE. The role supports Virginia Eye Consultants’ Ophthalmology department within EyeCare Partners, a clinically integrated eye-care provider. The trainer coordinates standardized clinical training for new technicians and staff, assesses competencies, and works with clinic managers and trainers to guide learning. The role helps ensure staff progress through training and meet clinical and documentation expectations before placement in the clinic.

What you'll do

• Coordinate centralized initial clinical training and training assignments
• assess technician and clinical staff competencies
• recommend and coordinate training
• communicate with trainees about progress and understanding
• collaborate with clinic managers
• help acclimate new technicians and connect them with study materials and education opportunities
• provide training as needed
• audit technician charts for MACRA/MIPS measures, exam components, and physician preferences.
