The Buyer I role is onsite in Downers Grove, IL, and follows a 9/80 schedule with alternating Fridays off. Compensation is $71,500–$89,500 per year. The buyer procures and schedules materials, products, and outside services needed for manufacturing complex aerospace devices. The role coordinates with suppliers and internal teams to support production schedules and meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.

What you'll do

• Procure materials and outside services
• execute requests for quotation and purchase within program schedules
• improve supplier relationships across safety, quality, delivery, and cost
• measure supplier performance and escalate concerns
• maintain vendor records
• schedule and track material deliveries
• update purchase orders
• resolve invoice discrepancies and delivery delays
• comply with applicable laws, policies, and operational frameworks.

Why this role

Requires a bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, or equivalent education and work experience, and at least one year of procurement experience in manufacturing. Aerospace and defense experience is desired. The role requires lawful US person status under ITAR restrictions and eligibility to possess explosives as required by law. The schedule is 9/80 with alternating Fridays off.
