Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant role is onsite in Dallas, TX, and compensation is not specified. The position supports SOCOTEC’s corporate accounting department. SOCOTEC provides consulting services in architecture, engineering, and construction, including building-envelope, energy-efficiency, sustainability, code-advisory, and construction-advisory work. The accountant performs general accounting activities across corporate accounting and accounts payable, including journal entries, reconciliations, audit support, filings, cash receipts, invoice processing, and vendor inquiries. This work helps maintain accurate financial records and supports the department’s reporting and payment processes.

What you'll do

• Prepare month-end adjusting journal entries and monthly account and bank reconciliations
• assist with interim and year-end audits
• assist with state and local filings and remittances
• prepare and distribute annual 1099s
• post daily cash receipts and miscellaneous bank disbursements and receipts
• review invoices for general ledger coding and approvals
• enter vendor invoices for processing
• maintain accounts payable disbursement documentation
• respond to vendor and employee inquiries
• support special projects as needed.
