Paralegal – General Liability

The Paralegal – General Liability role is onsite in Chicago, IL, with scheduled hours of either 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Compensation is not specified. Hennessy & Roach, P.C. defends employers in workers’ compensation matters and defendants in general liability matters. The paralegal supports multiple attorneys by developing and organizing case information, preparing documents, and assisting with hearings and trials. The work helps attorneys manage case deadlines, evidence, discovery, and client-billed hours in a fast-paced legal environment.

What you'll do

• Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation and prepare legal documents
• investigate facts and identify relevant legal materials
• organize and track case files, calendars, deadlines, and database entries
• support discovery, medical-record requests, deposition and IME scheduling, and pleadings
• organize evidence and exhibits and coordinate witnesses
• transcribe dictation, handle mailings, maintain the firm calendar, and coordinate court appearances and out-of-town travel
• monitor regulations and submit billable hours in Perfect Law.

Why this role

Paralegal certificate required. One to two or more years of legal assistant or paralegal experience supporting a legal office is required; NALA or AACP certification is highly preferred.
