Counselor – Crisis Residence

Job overview

The Counselor – Crisis Residence position is onsite in Albany, NY, and starts at $20.40 per hour. The schedule is 30–40 hours per week and includes days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The role supports St. Anne Institute’s crisis residence, “The Beacon,” and its mission to partner with individuals and families in a supportive, inclusive environment. The counselor helps youth build self-control, emotional regulation, and positive social skills in a safe and secure setting. The role combines supervision, program activities, intake support, documentation, and coordination with outside service providers.

What you'll do

• Implement crisis residence routines and activities
• maintain a clean, safe, therapeutic environment
• supervise youth and model appropriate behavior
• transport youth to medical services or appointments as needed
• assist with intake and admissions as indicated
• complete paperwork
• maintain relationships with law enforcement, health providers, and referral agencies
• attend scheduled meetings and training.
