The assistant teacher supports the lead teacher in delivering developmentally appropriate classroom experiences. Through daily lessons, supervision, nurturing relationships, and individualized learning support, the role helps preschool children build foundational skills, confidence, independence, and kindergarten readiness.

What you'll do

• Work alongside the Lead VPK Teacher to create an engaging, developmentally appropriate learning environment. Support lessons, small-group activities, learning centers, and hands-on experiences. Help children develop early literacy, math, language, social-emotional, and problem-solving skills. Assist with classroom routines, transitions, supervision, and positive guidance
• observe progress and support individual learning needs
• maintain a clean, safe classroom
• communicate with teachers, families, and administration
• participate in training and program improvement.

Why this role

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, Florida DCF childcare personnel eligibility, Level 2 background screening, and applicable childcare training. Florida Staff Credential or CDA and preschool/VPK experience are preferred.
