Mental Health Therapist

The Mental Health Therapist role is onsite in Cambridge, MD. Compensation is not specified. The therapist supports Avenues Recovery Center’s 100-bed residential facility, which provides detoxification and inpatient rehabilitation services. The therapist provides individualized, evidence-based care to people recovering from substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. Through therapy, clinical assessment, crisis support, documentation, and coordination with the treatment team and families, the role contributes to clients’ recovery and ongoing mental wellness.

What you'll do

• Create individualized evidence-based treatment plans
• conduct individual, group, family, and couples therapy
• manage a caseload and oversee clinical care
• assess progress and adjust interventions
• provide crisis intervention, prevention, and de-escalation when needed
• maintain compliant clinical documentation
• collaborate with the Clinical Director, treatment team, and family members
• develop aftercare and discharge recommendations.

Why this role

Active state licensure or certification required: LCSW, LCPC, LGPC, CAC-AD, CSC-AD, or ADT. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field required; master’s degree and relevant treatment experience preferred.
