Fiber Splicing Technician – Communications

What you'll do

• Travel to client sites to troubleshoot and resolve telecommunications and data/IT equipment issues
• perform single and ribbon fusion splicing
• prepare cables and enclosures, including bonding and grounding
• install aerial and underground cable
• test fiber using OTDR, power meter, and light source
• terminate copper and fiber cable
• label and test components and systems
• document optical attenuation tests
• operate and analyze OTDR data
• perform as crew leader when assigned.
