The Assistant Nursing Manager - Night Shift role is an onsite position in Helena, MT. Compensation is $51 per hour plus shift differentials. The role supports Shodair Children’s Hospital’s pediatric psychiatry team, which serves the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents. Working with the Nurse Manager, the assistant manager supports nursing operations, coaches and supervises staff, responds to crises, and provides direct patient care when required to help maintain safe, trauma-informed, high-quality care.

What you'll do

• Support daily nursing operations, staffing, and unit flow
• coach, mentor, and clinically supervise staff
• lead de-escalation and respond to crises
• ensure documentation, compliance, and quality standards
• assist with onboarding and training
• act as unit leader when the Nurse Manager is absent
• provide direct patient care when required.

Why this role

Requires an RN license in Montana or a compact state and CPR; CPI APS certification is required within two months of hire. BSN and relevant pediatric mental health and leadership experience are preferred.
