The Director of Information Technology role is onsite in Jacksonville, FL. Compensation is not specified. Star Catcher is developing the Star Catcher Network, an orbital energy grid intended to provide power to spacecraft and support space missions. The director builds, secures, and scales the company’s technology infrastructure as it moves into a new facility. The role leads infrastructure strategy, cybersecurity and compliance, systems administration, facility technology integration, vendor and budget management, policy development, team growth, and employee support to help protect company information and minimize operational downtime.

What you'll do

• Design and oversee the IT roadmap for the new facility, including networking for engineering and laser labs
• lead efforts to achieve and maintain CMMC Level 2 and NIST 800-171 compliance
• oversee company systems including Google Workspace/Microsoft 365, ERP, and aerospace engineering software
• coordinate IT for clean room, optical labs, and machine shop
• manage ISP, hardware vendor, and MSP relationships and the annual IT budget
• establish disaster recovery, incident response, and acceptable-use policies
• recruit, mentor, and manage the IT team
• provide technical support to employees.

Why this role

The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic infrastructure planning. Aerospace or defense experience and knowledge of ITAR/EAR and NIST or CMMC frameworks are highly preferred; CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications are a significant plus.
