Licensed Veterinary Technician

Job overview

The Licensed Veterinary Technician role is onsite in Lynchburg, VA, and pays $20–$30 per hour. The position will support the Margaret Terrell Belcher Osteen Regional Veterinary Clinic, planned to open in January 2027, and the Lynchburg Humane Society’s mission to expand access to veterinary care and support animal welfare. The role contributes to accessible veterinary services, including wellness care, sick-pet appointments, and spay/neuter procedures.

What you'll do

• Obtain patient histories and document records
• assess and monitor patients
• collect laboratory samples
• administer medications and vaccines as directed and permitted
• assist with diagnostics and nursing care
• prepare patients for surgery
• induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia under protocols
• monitor vital signs
• assist veterinarians during procedures
• educate clients
• sterilize instruments
• maintain clean, stocked clinical areas
• assist with inventory
• follow regulatory and clinic requirements
• collaborate with clinic and shelter staff.
