What you'll do

• Receive and process laboratory samples
• demold cylinders
• write lab IDs
• use tape measures, calipers, squares, and straight-edge rulers
• prepare proctors by drying soil in pans
• perform basic soil and concrete tests
• learn soil and aggregate testing, triaxial compression, direct shear, consolidation, grain-size analysis, Atterberg limits, permeability, CBR, organic content, specific gravity, pH, resistivity, and concrete strength testing.
