Discovery and Collection Specialist

Job overview

The Discovery and Collection Specialist role is onsite in Springfield, VA; pay is $60,000–$65,000 per year. The specialist collects and evaluates publicly available information under customer policies, storage rules, OPSEC protocols, and Intelligence Oversight governance. The work supports intelligence priorities and customer mission needs through open-source reports, alerts, data discovery, and analytical contributions.

What you'll do

• Collect, research, evaluate, and compile publicly available information under established policies and procedures
• produce and disseminate open-source reports and alerts
• record activities in JIRA
• support intelligence priorities and requests for information
• monitor regions and targets
• geolocate
• assess media veracity
• maintain files and access to security-domain and intelligence community open-source systems
• contribute to reports, data releases, tradecraft knowledge management, and presentations.
