IT Security Specialist

Job overview

The IT Security Specialist role is hybrid, with two days onsite per week in Pontiac, MI. The assignment duration is six months, and pay is $50 per hour. The specialist secures and maintains infrastructure across on-premises, virtualized, hybrid, and cloud environments. The role identifies and remediates vulnerabilities, manages patch compliance, strengthens configurations, and uses automation to improve security operations and infrastructure reliability.

What you'll do

• Administer and secure Windows Server, Linux, VMware, and cloud infrastructure
• implement security baselines, access controls, hardening, and configuration management
• identify, prioritize, track, and remediate vulnerabilities
• plan and validate patch deployments
• support audits and compliance reporting
• secure virtualized and cloud environments
• use Tanium or similar tools for asset discovery and endpoint management
• develop scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• troubleshoot infrastructure and security issues
• maintain technical documentation and collaborate with technical teams.
