Maintenance Mechanic — Day Shift

The Maintenance Mechanic works onsite in Commack, NY, five shifts per week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including every other Saturday and Sunday. Pay is $31.97 per hour. The role supports Gurwin Jewish Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, part of a healthcare system providing healthcare and senior living services. The mechanic maintains and repairs systems and grounds across the campus, helping keep facilities operational and safe for residents and staff. The work includes troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, documentation, and responding to emergencies and snow events.

What you'll do

• Maintain and repair HVAC, boilers, plumbing, electrical systems, equipment, and grounds across the campus
• troubleshoot building problems and perform preventive maintenance
• complete work orders and maintenance documentation
• respond to emergencies and snow events, potentially working extended hours
• follow fire/disaster procedures and facility safety requirements
• be available for snow removal as needed and on call
• work with relatively little supervision.
