Lead Teacher - Head Start. This is an onsite position in Anne Arundel County, MD. Compensation is not specified. The Y of Central Maryland is a charitable, mission-driven organization. As a Y Head Start Teacher, you will plan, manage, and supervise early childhood classroom structure, including lesson plans, schedules, routines, and transitions. The Teacher will lead the classroom, including support associates, while ensuring adherence to federal and state standards and regulations, as well as the Y’s philosophy and approach to early childhood education. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the health, welfare, and safety of the children, and creating an environment that fosters their social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development.

What you'll do

• Plan, manage and supervise early childhood classroom structure, including lesson plans, schedules, routines and transitions.
• Lead the classroom, including support associates, while ensuring adherence to federal and state standards & regulations as well as to the Y’s philosophy and approach to early childhood education.
• Ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the children in the program.
• Create an environment which fosters the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and creative development of each child in your care.

What we're looking for

Education

A BA/BS or AA degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university. Your 90 hour child care certification and 9 hours in communication

Experience

At least 2 years of early childhood experience. Your 90 hour child care certification and 9 hours in communication
