Job overview
The Dental Hygienist role is onsite in Arab, AL. Pay is $30–$35 per hour. The position is part of the dental practice’s Operations department and contributes to patient experience and practice performance. The hygienist provides preventive oral care, examines patients for signs of oral disease, and educates them about oral health. The role also documents findings, takes and develops X-rays, applies preventive agents, and maintains and sterilizes dental instruments.
What you'll do
- Review patient medical histories
- examine gums and oral areas for signs of disease
- educate patients about periodontal disease and oral health
- remove deposits and stains
- apply fluoride or other cavity-preventing agents
- chart conditions for dentist diagnosis and treatment
- maintain and sterilize instruments
- expose and develop X-ray film
- follow state dental practice rules, documentation requirements, and OSHA precautions.
