Substitute Teacher – Head Start

The Substitute Teacher – Head Start role is onsite in Tooele, UT, paying $16 per hour. The position supports Utah Community Action’s Head Start classroom team and children and families. The substitute provides continuity during a regular teacher’s absence by maintaining a safe, nurturing classroom, supporting children’s development, planning engaging activities, communicating with staff and families, and following classroom routines. Assignments may last from a day to a week or longer, and the role requires at least one shift every 45 days.

What you'll do

• Help provide a safe and nurturing environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers

• maintain consistent routines during the regular teacher’s absence
• complete CPR/First Aid training within 90 days of hire and a Food Handler’s permit course within 60 days.
