Child Care Assistant

Job overview

The Child Care Assistant position is onsite in Buzzards Bay, MA, with compensation of $18 per hour. The role supports the Cape Cod Child Development Center under the Coast Guard Community Services Command. The assistant helps provide age-appropriate activities and routine care while monitoring children’s safety and development. Working with teachers and the director supports a positive program environment and children’s emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development.

What you'll do

• Plan and carry out early childhood experiences
• assist teachers and the director with curriculum and activities
• monitor children in classrooms, playgrounds, hallways, restrooms, and other program areas
• help prepare activity spaces and materials
• assist with routine caregiving, snacks, and meals
• conduct health checks
• maintain participation data and daily reports
• communicate with parents and staff.
