The Career Counselor 2 role is onsite in Yakima, WA. Pay is $23.85–$31.11 per hour. OIC of Washington’s Education and Career Services division supports eligible adults through career counseling, education, and employment services. The counselor assesses participants’ skills, interests, goals, and barriers, then coordinates counseling, training, job development, and referrals. The role helps participants improve their educational and economic status and supports program goals through case management and employer partnerships.

What you'll do

• Conduct intake and eligibility interviews
• enroll eligible participants
• assess skills, interests, goals, and barriers
• develop Individual Employment Plans
• provide individual and group career and job-search counseling
• coordinate referrals and support services
• monitor participant progress and training
• contact employers to develop placements and training agreements
• maintain case files
• follow up on job retention
• report program progress.

Why this role
