Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician

Job overview

The Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician role is onsite in Orlando, FL, primarily in the field at intersections, roadways, and outdoor sites, with some work in control rooms and equipment enclosures. Compensation is $17–$30 per hour. SICE Inc. provides the role’s ITS infrastructure work. The technician installs, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs traffic and communications equipment to support reliable ITS operation. The role restores service, documents maintenance, coordinates with relevant agencies and contractors, and follows safety procedures while working near traffic and at heights.

What you'll do

• Install, align, calibrate, and maintain traffic signals, variable message signs, CCTV cameras, sensors, radar, weather stations, signal cabinets, and communication links
• inspect devices and perform preventive maintenance
• troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, network, and communications issues
• respond to failures and emergencies outside regular hours as needed
• interpret engineering and electrical diagrams
• document work and maintain parts inventory
• coordinate with contractors, utilities, and agencies
• operate bucket trucks and aerial lifts as required
• follow safety protocols and use PPE.
