Utility Locator (Field Technician)

Job overview

The Utility Locator (Field Technician) role is onsite in Beaumont, TX, and pays $21 per hour. Stake Center Locating works to prevent damage to underground utilities in local communities. The technician locates and marks underground utilities, processes locate tickets, and communicates with customers and coworkers. The role supports damage prevention by interpreting maps and plans and using locating equipment accurately and safely.

What you'll do

• Use a laptop to receive, document, and process tickets and email
• read maps and interpret blueprints
• determine locating methods and sequence
• use locating equipment and technology to identify underground utilities
• communicate with peers, managers, and homeowners
• work outdoors in varied weather
• respond to emergency calls during scheduled on-call rotations.
