The Sous Chef (Full-Time) role is onsite at the Stryker Medical Building in Portage, MI. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with possible variation for events; pay is $18.00–$21.00 per hour. CulinArt provides dining services for corporate, educational, healthcare, and other clients, and this position supports its food-service operation at the Stryker Medical Building. The Sous Chef helps the Executive Chef prepare and cook food, coordinates food-service associates, and assumes kitchen responsibility when the Executive Chef is absent. The role contributes to timely production, safe food handling, consistent presentation, and effective meal service.

What you'll do

• Prepare and cook food according to approved recipes and production standards
• meet production deadlines
• supervise hourly food-service associates, including scheduling, training, and counseling
• store and handle food safely
• maintain food presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures
• keep equipment and work areas sanitary
• respond to customer complaints
• explain menu items
• monitor inventory, deliveries, production, consumption, and waste.
