Maintenance Assistant

Job overview

The Maintenance Assistant role is onsite in San Jose, CA, with pay of $25–$30 per hour. The position supports the physical plant and grounds at Almaden Health and Rehabilitation Center to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Working with the Maintenance or Environmental Supervisor, the assistant performs scheduled maintenance, general repairs, grounds care, and related safety and environmental-of-care tasks. The work helps keep facility spaces and equipment functional and supports resident and patient needs.

What you'll do

• Conduct scheduled maintenance throughout the physical plant and grounds
• identify potentially unsafe situations and respond appropriately
• communicate respectfully with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
• perform electrical service work within capabilities and report non-working items
• complete general building maintenance and repairs
• maintain grounds
• repair facility and resident equipment
• operate hand and power tools and maintenance equipment safely
• follow environment-of-care, patient-safety, waste-handling, privacy, and compliance requirements.
