The Information System Security Officer role is onsite in St. Inigoes, MD, with an estimated annual salary range of $80,000–$130,000. The officer helps protect assigned systems and maintain authorization by monitoring for threats, assessing vulnerabilities and controls, coordinating remediation, and keeping audit-ready security documentation. The work supports continuous compliance and risk communication across system owners, engineers, and program leadership.

What you'll do

• Monitor systems with Computer Network Defense tools for possible attacks, anomalous activity, and misuse
• correlate security events
• prepare eMASS authorization artifacts
• verify configurations against NIST 800-53 controls
• manage POA&Ms and remediation tracking
• analyze vulnerability and compliance scans
• support continuous monitoring, reauthorization, incident reporting, audits, and risk-status communications.
