Cloud Security Engineer (AWS and GCP)

Job overview

The Cloud Security Engineer role is remote within the United States. The salary range is $115,000–$140,000. The role supports Quantum Sky's cloud, security, and compliance services for customers operating under federal security frameworks. The position maintains and secures AWS and Google Cloud Platform environments through system administration, vulnerability remediation, compliance controls, and security tool management. It also participates in a structured 24×7 after-hours on-call rotation to triage and respond to incidents and alerts.

What you'll do

• Maintain and patch cloud workloads
• conduct vulnerability and compliance scanning and remediation
• support AWS and GCP systems and services
• configure security tools
• troubleshoot network, compute, application, and identity issues
• implement CIS, DISA STIG, and FedRAMP controls
• document systems and procedures
• support customer communications
• participate in the primary or backup on-call rotation, triage incidents, escalate complex issues, and document response actions.
