Job overview

The Surveyor 1 works onsite on construction projects in South Hill, Virginia. Compensation is $20–$25 per hour. M.C. Dean designs, builds, operates, and maintains electrical, security, telecommunications, life-safety, automation, and IT systems for mission-critical facilities and infrastructure. The surveyor provides measurements and layout support so construction work follows design drawings and specifications. By assisting with job setup, stakeout, and as-built work, the role helps job-site teams execute projects accurately.

What you'll do

• Assist with determining elevations, laying out stakes, marking measurement points, measuring between points, and placing stakes at designated points and elevations
• operate Total Station, GPS data collector, and auto levels
• read construction drawings and specifications
• follow detailed instructions and support job-site personnel under the Survey Chief.
