Winter Maintenance Assistant, 2nd Shift (Temporary)

The Winter Maintenance Assistant role is onsite in South Bend, IN, with a standard Monday–Friday schedule from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm; snow call-in may run from 3:00 pm to 3:00 am, and the schedule varies during winter operations. The temporary assignment lasts up to 26 weeks and pays $20.00 per hour. The role supports the Airport Maintenance Department’s airfield and outlying properties.

What you'll do

• Assist with winter snow operations, including salting, sanding, shoveling, brooming, plowing, and applying de-icing and anti-icing products
• perform preventive equipment maintenance
• assist technicians with heavy components and surface maintenance
• drive vehicles on controlled airfield surfaces under escort
• help with fuel spill cleanup as needed
• assist airport staff during emergencies and hazardous weather
• perform other assigned maintenance duties.
