What you'll do

• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities
• oversee and evaluate patient care through nursing rounds
• assign shift responsibilities to nursing and auxiliary staff
• delegate unit activities during crises
• facilitate admissions, transfers, and discharges
• set care priorities
• communicate information to coworkers
• help maintain staff schedules
• accompany and assist physicians with rounds, examinations, treatments, minor surgery, and deliveries
• orient new licensed staff and assist with nursing assistant orientation.
