The Material Specialist role is onsite in Virginia Beach, VA. Pay is $29–$31 per hour. The position provides inventory and logistics support for NSW craft maintenance, repairs, and deployments. The specialist maintains inventory accuracy and availability by receiving, tracking, staging, issuing, and shipping spare parts and other materials. The role supports craft maintenance teams and detachment personnel, including deployment preparation and replenishment, while resolving inventory discrepancies and maintaining records.

What you'll do

• Operate government forklifts to stage materials
• assist with inventory control and replenishment of NSW craft spare parts
• process stock issues and requests for maintenance and repairs
• conduct pre- and post-deployment inventory
• review stock limits and monitor critical spares
• audit material locations and correct discrepancies
• update automated inventory records
• validate received materials
• package and prepare outgoing shipments and turn-ins
• maintain shipping and transfer files
• track hurricane-preparation kit inventory
• reconcile outstanding and received materials.

Why this role

Requires an active Secret security clearance, five years of supply-focused customer service experience including inventory control and receipt processing within the last 10 years, two years of experience with the One Touch Support requisition tracking system, and a valid state driver’s license. A government forklift license is issued after passing written and practical examinations.
