The Medical Biller and/or Certified Coder role is onsite in Jamestown, NY. The stated pay range is $16.50–$19.50 per hour. The position supports The Chautauqua Center’s billing and patient-management functions. The role helps ensure billing is accurate, timely, and confidential by reviewing documented procedures, entering charges and payments, resolving claims, and maintaining patient and insurance records. It also assists patients with sliding-fee applications and billing questions and coordinates with insurance representatives and care providers.

What you'll do

• Review documented medical procedures and enter charges
• obtain documentation for insurance verification and billing
• enter payments
• assist with sliding-fee applications and track incomplete or expiring applications
• reconcile untracked encounters
• resolve denied and pending claims
• liaise with insurers
• transmit coded treatment information
• send patient statements
• assist with billing problems
• maintain aging insurance receivables and coordinate reimbursement.

Why this role

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred. Medical billing and office experience, FQHC/CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 knowledge, and electronic health record experience are preferred. Variable hours, including evenings or Saturdays, may be needed.
