Optician is an onsite role in San Mateo, CA. Compensation is $19.50–$25.00 per hour. The role supports patients at Borel Eye Doctor by helping them select eyewear that matches their needs and prescriptions. The optician guides patients through frame and lens choices, takes measurements, adjusts and dispenses eyewear, and supports the practice’s customer service and order-processing work. Accurate recommendations and patient records help deliver quality care and a positive patient experience.

What you'll do

• Determine the reason for each patient visit and identify lifestyle needs
• recommend eyewear based on the optometrist’s prescription
• assist with frame selection and optical measurements
• recommend lenses, coatings, and frames
• take measurements, adjust or troubleshoot eyewear, and dispense it
• provide accurate pricing and delivery estimates
• clean and merchandise displays
• assist with insurance billing and order processing
• document patient communications in practice software
• support special projects and other assigned duties.
