Research and Development Engineer

Job overview

The Research and Development Engineer role is onsite in Hermitage, PA, with compensation of $75,000–$85,000 per year. The position is part of a Product Design team developing and commercializing packaging products from concept through production launch. The engineer turns customer requirements into manufacturable designs, validates prototypes and tooling, and supports production readiness and continuous improvement through collaboration with customers and internal teams.

What you'll do

• Lead new product development from concept through commercialization and launch
• create 2D drawings and 3D models in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• assess feasibility
• build, test, and validate prototypes
• develop tooling packages and oversee procurement, commissioning, and qualification
• maintain drawings, specifications, and lifecycle documentation
• troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues
• inspect and verify GD&T
• collaborate with customers, manufacturing, operations, quality, and engineering.
