What you'll do

• Diagnose and treat illnesses, conditions, and injuries
• order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
• maintain patient histories and records
• prescribe and administer treatments, medications, and vaccinations
• explain procedures and results to patients and families
• monitor patients’ conditions and progress
• coordinate with and refer patients to other medical professionals
• advise parents and guardians on diet, activities, hygiene, and disease prevention
• stay current on developments in pediatrics.
