Operations and Maintenance Balance of Plant Manager

The Operations and Maintenance Balance of Plant Manager role is onsite in Oelwein, IA, with compensation of $80,000–$100,000 per year. The manager serves as the project owner’s onsite representative for balance-of-plant activities at a customer-owned wind farm. The role oversees operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, safety, and performance of wind-farm balance-of-plant equipment and infrastructure. It coordinates with the project owner, off-taker, subcontractors, site management, and corporate leadership to keep equipment operating as intended and address faults and repair needs.

What you'll do

• Plan and perform equipment inspections
• document discrepancies
• develop operational efficiency, safety, and performance strategies
• respond to collection-system faults and substation trips and determine their cause within 24 hours
• troubleshoot electrical equipment
• monitor performance and recommend corrective actions
• adjust relay settings as directed
• communicate about unscheduled outages
• perform service and repair work, cable locates, switching, and SCADA maintenance as required
• coordinate road and yard upkeep
• manage subcontractor repairs
• and liaise between site management and corporate leadership.
