The Veterinary Technician, Neurology role is an onsite, full-time position in Dunwoody, GA, with a 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule and stated compensation of $18–$38 per hour. Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency’s Neurology team provides specialty care for patients with neurological conditions and complex post-operative needs. The technician provides advanced nursing care and assists with evaluations, procedures, diagnostics and recovery monitoring. The role contributes to coordinated specialty care by working with neurology, emergency and critical care, surgery, anesthesia and diagnostic imaging teams.

What you'll do

• Provide nursing care for hospitalized neurology and specialty patients
• assist with neurologic evaluations, consultations and procedures
• monitor neurologic status, pain, mobility and recovery
• prepare and monitor patients for anesthesia, MRI, CT and diagnostics
• perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory diagnostics, medication administration and anesthesia monitoring
• assist with post-operative care and rehabilitation
• communicate with clients and advocate for patients.
