The Preschool Teacher — Afternoons role is onsite in Glen Allen, VA. Compensation is $16.05–$19.05 per hour. Cadence Education says its research-based curriculum and supportive school environments are intended to help children, families, and teams grow. Working under the School Director and Lead Teacher, the teacher supports daily classroom operations and program delivery. The role helps provide a safe, nurturing, engaging environment that supports children’s physical, social, emotional, developmental, and behavioral needs, including those with IEPs.

What you'll do

• Support a positive, inclusive classroom
• greet children and families
• assist with individual developmental, behavioral, cultural, and learning needs, including following IEPs and behavioral support plans as directed
• support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and Cadence Signature Programs
• communicate with families, coworkers, and leadership using approved tools
• follow safety and supervision procedures and document and report incidents
• assist with managing and escalating child behaviors
• participate in required meetings, training, and professional development.

Why this role

Associate or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and CDA are preferred but not required if state requirements are met. Schedules may vary and are not guaranteed to be eight-hour shifts; required meetings or training may occur outside scheduled hours.
