What you'll do

• Assess patients’ physiological and psychosocial status, pain, history, understanding, and care expectations
• identify outcomes and nursing diagnoses
• develop and adjust care plans
• communicate pertinent information and document in patient records
• respond to emergencies
• follow legal and ethical standards
• support preoperative communication, surgical counts, aseptic technique, patient and site identification, blood-product procedures, and efficient turnover
• anticipate surgeon needs.
