Surfacing and Grinding Technician

Job overview

The Surfacing and Grinding Technician role is onsite in Torrance, CA. Compensation is $36–$50 per hour. Divergent designs, manufactures, and assembles advanced systems for automotive, aerospace, and defense customers. The technician sets up and operates precision rotary surface grinding equipment to produce components that meet dimensional and surface-finish requirements. The role works with manufacturing, quality, machining, and production teams to maintain process control and improve quality and throughput.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate rotary surface grinders
• review drawings and inspection requirements
• select grinding wheels and process parameters
• mount, dress, and maintain wheels
• perform rough and finish grinding
• inspect parts with precision measuring equipment
• adjust processes based on inspection results
• complete production documentation
• identify nonconforming conditions
• support prototype and production work, process development, and equipment maintenance.
