Copywriter Intern

Job overview

The Copywriter Intern role is hybrid in Madison, WI or Austin, TX, with in-office collaboration Monday through Wednesday and remote flexibility Thursday and Friday. Pay is $15 per hour. The intern joins Hiebing’s Create team to contribute to client work and build writing skills and a portfolio. The intern develops concepts and copy with creative teammates, adapting writing to brand voice, audience, and objectives. Collaboration, feedback, and careful use of AI tools support the development of effective, accurate creative work.

What you'll do

• Develop creative concepts with art directors, writers, and other team members
• write and refine copy across channels for different brand voices and audiences
• contribute ideas and build on others’ ideas
• apply feedback
• explore AI tools for research and brainstorming while using judgment in final work
• follow agency guidance on AI, confidentiality, accuracy, bias, and brand fit
• manage assignments, communicate progress, and meet deadlines with team support.

Why this role

Portfolio required. The internship is expected to start in fall 2026 and continue through May 2027; the Create team prefers 40 hours per week. Candidates must be based in Wisconsin or Texas and authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
