Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role is onsite in Washington, DC. Compensation is $59–$60 per hour. ZipStaff is recruiting for a technical lead role supporting a major transportation organization. The engineer designs, deploys, automates, and maintains secure, scalable cloud environments, primarily in AWS with secondary Azure support. The role contributes to cloud migrations, governance, platform reliability, and business continuity while providing technical guidance to junior engineers and partner teams.

What you'll do

• Design and manage scalable, resilient AWS infrastructure with secondary Azure support
• automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform or CloudFormation
• lead cloud migration and modernization work
• maintain reusable platform templates and landing zones
• establish security, IAM, compliance, and governance practices
• design backup and disaster recovery solutions
• resolve cloud networking and integration issues
• mentor junior engineers and collaborate across technical teams.
