The role supports a specialty contractor delivering mechanical, piping, HVAC, plumbing and building systems for complex non-residential projects. The estimator develops detailed estimates that inform bids, project planning, vendor and subcontractor selection, and cost analysis. The lead role also manages estimator assignments and development, evaluates opportunities against growth targets, and represents the firm during pre-award discussions with owners and general contractors.

What you'll do

• Prepare detailed mechanical piping construction estimates for bids, project planning, vendor and subcontractor selection, and cost-effectiveness analysis
• lead estimator assignments, performance reviews, resource allocation and skills development
• collaborate with marketing to assess bid opportunities against strategic growth targets
• represent the firm to general contractors and owners during estimating and pre-award work
• consult clients, vendors and field staff on estimates and scope or pricing questions
• track cost trends for process improvement and margin management.
